Suicide at Swell Season concert

LONDON - A man died Thursday night after jumping onto the stage at an outdoor concert by the band Swell Season in California.
The audience at Saratoga Mountain Winery, near San Jose, watched in horror when the man deliberately threw himself from the roof of a building near the lighting rig, according to local reports. Many in the audience were shaken and in tears.
"The band, crew and all involved with them are shocked and saddened by the unfortunate events of last night," Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova of the Swell Season said in a statement issued to Hot Press. "Their hearts go out to the victim and his friends and family."
The San Jose Mercury News reports that Hansard had just finished a song and was indulging in some banter with the crowd and guitar player when the man jumped.
"I saw him standing there on the edge of the roof, I thought it was a part of the act, and then he took off running and jumped, did a couple of flips and landed on the stage," audience member Kyle Rivers told the paper. "It was pretty traumatic."
Hansard put down his guitar and walked over to the man on the stage, while doctors in attendance attempted to revive him. Sheriff's authorities and paramedics attended the scene.
Santa Clara County officials confirmed to the paper that an incident occurred at the venue but did not disclose details. However, various witnesses have posted details on Twitter.
"Swell Season at Mountain Winery was amazing until someone decided it was time 2 end their life & made an entire audience unwilling witnesses," wrote one audience member.

Fashion Night is On!!!!

Excited News to the fashion lovers....

Nothing is garnering more media attention thanFashion's Night Out. Not the Oscars, the MTV Music Awards, New York Fashion Week, Snooki. Nothing. When we look at what droveAnna Wintour to devise one of the greatest marketing plans on Earth, we see at the core, a beautiful, well-intended, generous, spirited gem of an idea. "Bring people back to the stores." Funny, that when George Bush said the same thing after9-11, that people should just "Go Shopping," it was met with mixed emotions. Actually, Democrats were apoplectic. But if you think about it...it was a good idea. When is retail therapy not a good idea?

The Worst Celebrity Foot-in-Mouth Moments

First, Jennifer Aniston was under fire for saying that it's OK for women to get pregnant with a "turkey baster." Now, she's said a word that even little kids know not to use.
On Thursday's live episode of "Live with Regis and Kelly," Aniston used the word "retard" to make fun of herself.
While discussing a photo shoot in which Aniston dressed up like Barbra Streisand, Aniston said, "Yes, I play dress up. I do it for a living, like a retard."
Advocacy groups hopped on the incident right away. The Special Olympics released a statement saying, "[We are] always disappointed when the R-word is used, especially by someone who is influential to society... the R-word, even in an off-the-cuff self-deprecating manner, dehumanizes people with intellectual disabilities and perpetuates painful stereotypes."
But Aniston is not alone in the open mouth, insert foot department. Dr. Laura was forced to quit her radio show after using the controversial N-word 11 times on the air last week. Mel Gibson has been caught on tape calling his ex-girlfriend every racist, sexist slur imaginable. And who can forget Michael Richards' rant, or Sinead O'Connor's grave insult to the Pope?
